Geez, how long has it been since I logged on here? xD ..Sorry guys I have been quite busy these pass few days jury duty, moving, school, getting things done at home..*sighs I finally got a break & everything is now done!
As I said I had Jury Duty ( for the ones that don't know what that is, its when you get called by the state to go to court and hear someones case than make a decision if that person is guilty or not guilty) ahh man! I truly HATEDD it!
But, THANK GOD I had it along with a girl I use to go to middle school with, as I arrived I was soo nerves! why? cause I didn't know what to expect, this was my frist time doing jury duty, before I go any futher let me tell you about my plan I had & "tried" (but FAILED xD) to get out of serving jury duty.. I checked my mail and I see a letter says something 'bout a courthouse address when I look at it, Im like Uh?! what is this about?! as I open it and saw what it was I was like NOOOOOOOOOOOO! whyyy mee!? FML lol I SO didn't want to go so I'm like I aint goin to this Sh*t! so, in the back of the card, there's a line you had to fill out stating your reason why you can't attend jury duty.
So, me my so smart self put on the back of the card " Me NO ingles" xD ha! I know, I know it was dumb of me but I just had a lot to get done that same week! & I am mailed it back to them.
A few days later sending the letter, I get another letter from them stating that I have to show proof that I am just a US resident! Im like greatt, just greatt! I can't proof that! why? cause I am a US citizen! either way I HAD to go, :(
a little bit down it read " fail to attend a warrent out for your arrest can be issued, this is your last warning."
I didn't want to get arrested so I went! xD as I was arriving to the courthouse I was SOO nerves! I didn't know what to expect, I didn't know how long I was gonna be assigned to a case ( it can take up weeks, or even months) I didn't know what type of case I was going in for. I waited and waited in the waiting room, waiting for my name NOT to be called so I could go home, yeahh right! as soon that thought came across my head my name got called! xD
The lady that called my name told me "wait here & a attorney will come and get you." finally the attorney comes down we are now headed to the courtroom :S super nerves, we are seated and now the questioning begins! the judge and the attorney start askin everyone hard questions! I like what the hell? I don't know how to answer these questions! and they would use words that were this big "ihjgsjfjhfdoskjznflhdljhghfg" words that I never heard of!
after "interviewing" us they tells us to go sit outside and they will pick only 7 people to be assigned to this case. As I sat outside Im like saying to myself " please don't pick me, please don't pick me, PLEASE don't pick me!" over and over..
we get called back in to the courtroom and hold and behold my name gets called! AHHHHHHHHHH! Im like dang it!! xD
The case that I got assigned to was about "Domestic Violence in front of a minor."
The attorney of the "victim" started to tell us about the case "and he kicked her over, and over in front of their child." in my head I was like "YUPP his guilty!" xD (you can't make a desicon that quick)
2 days passed by and the victim started to tell us about what happend, as I am hearing this lady's story.. it sounded SO shady like if she was the one that ''set him up" her story would change like every 2O mins. I didn't believe her ONE BIT..anyways day 3, the guy that "supposly kicked/beat his ex girlfriend" told us his side of his story..hearing his story I knew he didn't do it, deep down inside this man was not guilty!
that same day, we as juriors got together and made a decision as soon we got together we all said "HE IS NOT GULITY!" I was like wow, I thought I was the only one that thought he was not guilty, so my inner gut was telling me the right thing. we started to talk about the case about this and that, her story his story and so on. after 1 hour talking about the case we made our decision.
we walked out of the room and handed a letter to the judge, now this is what EVERYONE has been waiting for, OUR decision! as we are walking back into the courtroom the judge says " All Rise!"
as the judge is reading if his guilty or not guilty I get chills in my body for some odd reason..he says his name, Jeff such&such is NOT guilty. Im like whew! finally all this is done! we are dismissed, as I am walking out the door (the guy that "supposly" hit his ex girlfriend) he taps me on the shoulder and almost litterly crys and takes my hand and tells me "Thank you SO much." thanking me over and over.. he said you dont know how much this means to me, once again thank you! I about cried with him lol
I remember telling him " I already knew you were not guilty from the day she told her side of the story." (guys trust me if you were there you would understand how the way she was saying her story sounded SO shady and it didn't add up.) He shook all of our hands, and couldn't stop saying thanking us, I was VERY happy with our decision! ..sad she was trying to set him up tho.
well, thats a little bit of my story of how it went on my week as serving jury duty. xD
..guess I better get going and start doing dinner for the hubby :)
